When will I be famous (indexed)? Part 2
Ok. It took actually 3 months until this blog popped up in Google Search Results. It even appears in a quite popular spot when searching my name.

Cool Web 2.0 stuff - Photo editing and browsing
It is surprising how many great tools are available - and for free. Once you had to pay a nice amount of money for a photo editor; today you can choose from a list of great service providers. The Desktop application is dead - long live web 2.0.
Outstanding Photo Editors are Picnik and of course Adobe's Photoshop Express.
And if you just want to have a great experience when browsing images there is a fantastic plug-in on Piclens.

Web 2.0 Dictionary - what is a flog?
Flogs - fake blogs or reviews by employees or other profit motivated people. It appears that this marketing method finally came to the attention of the right people and marketeers have to watch out not to face legal action.

Future of the WEB in 2008
Take 5 minutes to see this Flash based powerpoint(?). Although it might result in changing the name of this blog to webthreepointo. BTW - I found this presentation on Slideshare.
BTW - Site has lots of great presentations, you can view them without signing up. And of course it got already a Facebook Application.

When will I be famous (indexed)?
One of the interesting things is how fast Web 2.0 is working. But how fast is it really. Let's take this blog. I created a week ago. So far no trace in Google. Rumor says that it takes around 30 days to get into the Google Search Results.
Maybe we can make it happen faster by using Google's own URL submit service. After submitting the URL I also was informed that I can check the Google Webmaster Tools and submit a site map optimized for Google. Given the fact that the 'site' so far contains 3 blogs and one page I will pass on this one. As I am planning to set up a few small websites in different countries and languages all this information is indeed very useful. OK, next timecheck in 24 hours.

Zlango - Fun 2.0
I recently encountered Zlango. On first sight nothing new seems to be here, we had plenty of icon languages in the past and present (basically smileys and other simple icons). I installed their ICQ version (yes I am still using ICQ, since 1999) and I have to admit: it is pure fun. Your text is transformed "on the fly" into icons (with some practice you can communicate with people not knowing your language at all).

In addition they released a plug-in for mail services (including Gmail and AOLmail).

Top Bloggers per Country
To run a blog campaign for the site I am working for I tried to assemble a list with influential bloggers per country. There is a lot of work to do in that area. It took one day to create a list for 8 countries (India, Greece, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Thailand, Netherlands, Poland and Hungary) and it is a pretty short list (less than 50 names). I used the following resources: www.technorati.com - the bible of blogger information
www.readwriteweb.com - excellent site, highly recommended
www.google.com - trying to search for 'top indian bloggers' is OK but 'top dutch bloggers' probably takes you to my blog as soon as it will be indexed (nice tip for black hat SEO).
Any idea if there is a more comprehensive existing list of bloggers per country (and category)? If not I probably will build it and sell it.
